WHAT FACE RECOGNITION CAMERAS DO

Detect, Match, Act — All Inside the Camera

1

Face capture in any light

The camera detects a face in the frame, tracks it and captures a recognition-grade image — with our full-color night vision platform, that capture stays usable in near-darkness instead of degrading to an IR silhouette that fails matching.

2

On-device matching

Face features are extracted and matched against the enrolled list stored in the camera. The decision — known person, unknown person, VIP or blacklist — is made locally in milliseconds, with no server round-trip and no per-event cloud cost.

3

Events to your systems

Match results are exported as structured events — face ID, confidence, timestamp and captured image — over RTSP/API to your NVR, VMS, access controller or attendance database. The camera delivers the identity; your system decides the action.

FACE RECOGNITION VS STANDARD AI CAMERA

When Identification Beats Detection

"Face recognition camera" searches are buyers who already know they need to identify people, not just record them. This table settles when a face recognition camera is the right call versus a standard AI detection camera.

KEY SPECS

What Buyers Should Check Before Buying

Recognition distance & angle

Door width, approach distance and mounting height decide the lens and camera position. A 1 m access door at a badge reader needs a different setup than a 6 m gate. Share the site layout with us and we will recommend the model and mounting height.

Low-light face capture

Face matching fails on dark, noisy images. Check the camera's low-light performance, not just its resolution — a 5MP sensor with full-color night vision will match faces at night where an IR-only camera cannot. Our face recognition lines carry the same full-color platform as the rest of the range.

Open integration

Face events are only useful if they reach your system. ONVIF + RTSP for recording and a documented API for face events mean the camera drops into your existing access controller, attendance database or VMS instead of forcing a proprietary platform.

FACE RECOGNITION + FULL-COLOR NIGHT VISION

Identities That Survive the Dark

Most face recognition deployments happen indoors under controlled light — but gates, entrances and loading docks are outdoor scenes. FULLCOLORCAM face recognition cameras pair the matching engine with our full-color night vision platform: faces are captured in color in near-darkness, so matching stays reliable and the footage around the match is identifiable, not a silhouette. When a blacklist event or an incident becomes a report, that color image is the part that holds up.

FAQ

Questions Buyers Ask

What is a face recognition camera?

A face recognition camera is a security camera with on-device AI that detects a human face, extracts its features and matches it against an enrolled list stored in the camera. The match result triggers a local output — door unlock, attendance record, VIP greeting or blacklist alert — without sending face data to a cloud service.

How is face recognition different from human detection?

Human detection classifies "a person is in the scene" and is used for intrusion alerts. Face recognition goes one step further: it identifies WHICH person it is, by matching against enrolled faces. A camera can have both — human detection for security alarms, face recognition for access and attendance.

Does face recognition work at night?

Yes, with the right camera. Recognition quality depends on the sensor's low-light performance and illumination. Our face recognition lines use the same full-color night vision platform as the rest of the range — the face is captured in color in near-darkness instead of a washed-out IR image, which improves match accuracy and gives you identifiable footage as evidence.

Does it need a server or a subscription?

No. Recognition runs on-device inside the camera: enrolled faces are stored locally, matching happens locally and events are exported over RTSP/API to your NVR, VMS or access controller. There is no monthly per-camera fee and no dependency on a cloud platform.

Can it integrate with our access control or attendance system?

Yes. The camera outputs structured face events (ID, match confidence, timestamp, captured image) via standard interfaces, which is how it drives door controllers, attendance records and blacklist alerts in real deployments. If you already run an NVR or VMS, the camera records to it and pushes face events to it at the same time.

How many faces can it store?

Enrollment capacity depends on the model and its memory configuration — our standard face recognition lines store thousands of face templates on-device. Tell us the number of personnel and access points and we will recommend the model and configuration.

Is face data stored in the camera or uploaded?

By default the enrolled face templates and recognition events stay on your local devices — camera, NVR and your own server. We do not operate a cloud face-matching service, and we can configure the system so no face data leaves your network. Compliance requirements vary by market; share your local regulation with us and we will confirm the deployment mode.

Can you OEM face recognition cameras for our brand?

Yes. We manufacture face recognition camera lines directly — private label on existing models (no MOQ — mixed solution orders welcome), or ODM with custom enrollment workflows, detection scenarios, firmware options and your app and packaging branding. Samples and pre-shipment inspection available.
